Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of butter, refrigerated or frozen

  • microwave

  • 30-60 seconds of time

Directions:

  1. Place your stick of butter directly onto the turntable of your microwave. Place it toward the edge instead of the center!

  2. Microwave for 30 seconds, stopping every 5 seconds to rotate the stick of butter clockwise or counterclockwise.

  3. Depending on the temperature of your butter, this can take 15-60 seconds.

FAQ:

Q: What happens if it melts?!

Drats! That is the worst.

For easier cleanup, I would recommend leaving the butter in the microwave to solidify before cleaning up. That way, you can scrape instead of soaking up. If you’re able to do this, make sure to include a note on the front so no one else puts in food to heat!

For further usage: If it’s only partially melted, carefully pick it up and return it to the fridge. The melted part will reharden, and you can re-cream and use it the same way as before.

If it’s fully melted, I would highly reconsider using it for that baking batch. Instead, you can repurpose it as cooking/roasting oil for anything you need to cook soon, ie. for dinner.

Good luck!
